Klein Goederust is a distinctive boutique wine farm with a rich history in South Africa. We are delighted to announce that Paul Siguqa is the owner of Klein Goederust, which is the first 100% Black-owned wine farm in Franschhoek. In 2019, Paul Siguqa, son of the esteemed former Cape Winelands farm worker, Nomaroma Siguqa, acquired Klein Goederust, a 10-hectare gem located in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley. With this acquisition, Klein Goederust proudly stands as the first 100% Black-owned wine farm in the valley. In a nod to the farm's history and to honor his cultural heritage, Paul Siguqa decided to retain the farm's original name, which dates back to its establishment in 1905. Additionally, he painstakingly restored the original farm building to its former glory while infusing it with contemporary, minimalist decor elements.

Vivian Kleynhans, formerly known as Vivian Brutus, embarked on a pioneering journey in the wine industry as a self-taught entrepreneur with the goal of creating Seven Sisters Wines and leaving a lasting legacy for future generations. Historically excluded from the wine industry, people of color began to find their place after South Africa embraced democracy in 1994. In 2009, the Brutus family took on the challenge of cultivating barren land, envisioning a new home, a winery, and a tasting facility. Over 13 years, Vivian has successfully transformed the landscape, planted vines, and built a welcoming tasting room and restaurant, culminating in the establishment of a cutting-edge wine production facility.
